Some residents have contacted me regarding when the City will resume their sanitation services. As of this date/time, the City will only be resuming the household garbage collection (in the black containers) on those days regularly scheduled for picked-up. The recycle and yard cuttings will be determined in the near future to resume their pick-up. We must realize the City has a tremendous difficult task in removing all of the debris from their rights-of-way as a result of Irma’s destructive high winds. If you have further questions, please contact the City’s Customer Service Hotline at 954-828-8000.
FP&L is currently restoring the electric outages and has estimated they will have south Florida back in electrical service by this Sunday, 17 September 2017.
There has been a great deal of coordination amongst the City, County and FP&L crews to efficiently and effectively perform their respective tasks in restoring service to our community and businesses. We can count our blessings that we missed the full strength of Irma’s catastrophic hurricane winds and water surges as originally forecasted for our area. Please be patient as we all are all on the same team and do better when we work together.
Thanks for your cooperation,
Ralph Zeltman, Director
